The romantic and everyday motifs and plots are complemented by the witty context of Ukrainian-Greek, Ukrainian-Jewish, and Ukrainian-Russian relations, the local colour of Mariupol and its surroundings, and the everyday life and traditions of the Ukrainian Azov region.
