Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) a world-famous pianist and composer, politician, statesman, philanthropist, outstanding orator and a tireless campaigner for Polish independence. Moreover, as an erudite with a profound sense of humour, he endeared himself to the most important crowned and uncrowned heads of state, ultimately becoming one of the architects of Polish independence.
