Performed by de Staatskapelle Dresden under Rudolf Kempe. With prominent soloists like Malcolm Frager (piano) and Ulf Hoelscher (violin).

This set provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the lesser known works by Strauss. The oboe concerto, the duet-concertino, for clarinet, bassoon and strings, Parergon zur Symphonia domestica, Op. 73, and Panathenäenzug: symphonic studies in the form of a passacaglia for piano (left hand) and orchestra, Schlagobers, Op. 70 (Waltz) etc.
