I do not pretend to much originality in these pages. The idea which forms the principle of both "Short Cut" and "Tunnels" was suggested by a passage in the "Invitation Heeded," from the pen of the Rev. James Kent Stone, now Father Fidelis, C. P. The passage will be appropriately quoted presently; therefore, I need not give it here.
