The principle of the game is very simple, but to play it well is quite the reverse.<br><br>My purpose in writing this book is to give the young player some idea of how to conduct a game of checkers in a way which will get him into the habit of making good moves, thus avoiding the glaring mistakes common among all beginners. Some students have a natural checker talent.
