Two miles east doth Blaydon bell
Midnight-wanting-a-quarter tell.

Wrap thee, brother, nose and chin,
And ware the tangles of the whin:
The cold and stately masquer Night
Doth huddle her in snowy shroud,
And all her starry spangles bright
She muffles deep in riftless cloud.
