It is by no means claimed for this volume that it presents a complete view of the young man's purpose or progress in life. It is merely what the title "Hints and Helps" would clearly suggest; that is all. But if it prove in any degree a means of setting young men to think more seriously and practically, it will abundantly fulfil its mission. A "hint" is often better than an argument.
