Opis: Lubin. Early Medieval Stronghold at the Mouth of the Oder River - Marian Rębkowski

In 2008, fieldwork was started on the stronghold in Lubin. This was initiated and financed by the Municipality of Międzyzdroje. The work was conducted by the Centre for Archaeology of the Middle Ages of the Baltic Region of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IAE PAN) in cooperation with the Department of Archaeology of the University of Szczecin. These investigations were intended to shed light on several important problems regarding the site. A question of fundamental importance was to determine the chronology of the occupation on the hilltop and to ascertain the genesis, chronology, extent and shape of the defended settlement.
