Il carnoval di quest'anno rovesci tutte le idee, mand a male piti d'una sentenza. Fa detto p. e. motus in Jtnt veloeior: questa sar, eli' anzi, una fisica verit; quanto al carnovale, ella fu un solenne sproposito. II movimento del primo di fu pari al movimento dell'ultimo, ella fu una continua rapina, un perpetuo uragan di tripudii. La Marantega, o se pi vi piace la Befana, che porta a'putti la calza, apri, come in antico, le botteghe de'mascherai. Il popolo entr nel suo diritto, e se ne valse di santa ragione: aveva dinanzi a s ben qnarantaotto giorni: non importa.
