These taken separately are pieces of sentences. When properly put together, they are the vehicles of thought.<br><br>Good definitions are held to be absolutely necessary in the formal study of any science, English Grammar not excepted. They are the hitching posts for concentrated thought and reference. All definitions in this book are therefore clear, pointed, and precise.
