Both in Polish and in English version the three most important (or perhaps even “classical”) totalitarian regimes had been analysed - namely Italy under Mussolini, Third Reich and Stalinist Soviet Union. At the same time some totalitarian regimes that functioned in Asia (China, Cambodia under the Red Khmers) or in Latin America (Cuba, nowadays in the process of transformation) or even still existing communist North Korea had been deliberately omitted. Both the character of extra-European totalitarian regimes and some important socio-economic factors unable (as it seems) to put all these totalitarian systems in the one single book.
